Fractional Design Leader Collaboration
What We're Setting Out to Do
This engagement gives you dedicated product thinking and hands-on prototyping — focused on the problems and opportunities that matter most to you right now. Whether that's exploring an early idea, shaping something from scratch, or fixing what's broken.
Scope
Across all three, the work covers product strategy, product innovation, design concept, and prototype. All three modes are available within this engagement:
Explore — You have a signal or early idea and want to know if it's worth pursuing. We explore the concept, prototype directions, and find what deserves to move forward.
Shape — You have a defined problem but no product yet. We define what the product should be and prototype the concept.
Reshape — You have an existing product that isn't working. We diagnose what's wrong, reimagine it, and prototype a better version.
What we produce is clarity and a testable concept — not production code.

How we work – 7 ways
Kick-off call. 60 to 90 minutes to align on the problem — this is the starting point and the only synchronous session.
Brief and specs. Everything is documented in Notion — your single hub for the brief, the work, and the feedback.
Request queue. You queue up what you need — we work through it within the month.
Turnaround. Each deliverable has an average turnaround of 2 working days.
Delivery. Work delivered via async Loom walkthroughs and live prototype links you can open and interact with directly.
Feedback. You respond with written notes or comments in Notion. For interface and flow reviews, a FigJam board is embedded directly in the Notion page — you annotate there, without leaving your hub.
Handoff. A clean close — all work documented in Notion, with a clear picture of where to go from here.
⚠️ This engagement is strictly asynchronous.
After the kick-off call, all collaboration happens through written communication and recorded walkthroughs — no live meetings, no video calls, no real-time messaging. That means no Zoom, no Google Meet, no WhatsApp, no Slack, no phone calls. This is how the work stays focused and the turnaround stays fast.
📝 Everything lives in Notion. It is the one place you go to — for the brief, the work, and the feedback.
Tangible Deliverables by Mode
This is not an exhaustive list, but covers the core deliverables most companies need when working with a Product Studio.
Explore
For early signals and ideas that need validation before investment.
Discovery Brief — a documented framing of the opportunity, the problem space, and the key assumptions to test
Competitive Landscape Map — a visual mapping of the market, adjacent players, and whitespace
Trend & Signal Analysis — a synthesis of patterns, behaviours, or market shifts relevant to the idea
Assumption Map — a prioritised list of what needs to be true for the idea to work, ranked by risk
Concept Directions — 2–3 distinct directions worth pursuing, each with rationale and trade-offs
High Level User Flow — an end-to-end map of how a user moves through the concept, from entry point to key outcome
Breadboarding — screens defined by their content and features, and how they connect to each other, before any visual design begins
Interactive Prototype — a clickable concept to put in front of users or stakeholders early
Validation Framework — a testing script and success criteria ready to run with real users
Shape
For defined problems with no product yet — building the concept from zero.
Product Brief — a clear definition of what the product is, who it's for, and why it matters
Jobs-to-be-Done Framework — a structured articulation of what users are hiring the product to do
Product Principles — the guiding decisions that keep the product coherent as it gets built
User Journey Map — end-to-end flow of how the target user experiences the product
Information Architecture — the structure, hierarchy, and navigation of the product
Mid-Fidelity Wireframes — detailed screens with real layout, content, and interaction logic
High-Fidelity Design Concept — a polished visual concept that communicates the full product vision
Clickable Prototype — a testable prototype ready for user testing or stakeholder review
Success Metrics Definition — a framework for measuring whether the product is working
Reshape
For existing products that are broken, stale, or no longer serving their users.
Product Audit Report — a documented diagnosis of what is broken, why, and the impact on users
Heuristic Evaluation — a structured usability review against established design principles
Pain Point Map — a visual map of where users struggle in the current product and why
Prioritised Recommendations — a ranked list of what to fix, in what order, and why
Redesigned User Journey — an improved end-to-end experience that addresses the diagnosed problems
Redesign Concept — a new visual and interaction direction for the product
Before & After Comparison — a side-by-side articulation of what changed and why it matters
Clickable Prototype — a testable version of the reimagined product
